Has anyone used a business with good reults who bore out a sock TB to 52/58MM. Is it cost effective or would you buy new if you had to do it over? Thanks!
Ported stock throttle bodies seem to have less problems than their aftermarket counterparts. I've been running an AS&M 52 mm TB for ~8 years with 0 issues..
I bought a professional products throttle body for around $175 and have had absolutely no issues at all with it. It turned out to be a nice quality piece at a good price.

I was going to use these guys http://cgi.ebay.ca/TPI-52mm-bored-po...item5637f8a510, but after adding shipping back and forth and the fact my core was not usable(already bored by TPS, but worn out), I decided to buy a new BBK.
They promptly answered my emails and have a very good rating.

That's the one I was looking to buy, but it was going to take a few weeks for my parts place, to bring it in. They had the BBK in stock.
Looks like a nice unit for the $
tbs in general are a waste of money unless you are 600 hp + or FI.
Not true. A larger throttle body is more important for a normally aspirated motor than a forced injection motor because the positive pressure of a blower negates the possible restriction in the intake tract of a relatively small throttle body. A normally aspirated motor on the other hand has to "suck" air through the intake so any restriction will cost horsepower. The Calloway twin turbos of the late 80's used the stock throttle body.
