I have a new antenna mast with the ribbon for my '91. My question is how to remove the old mast. All instructions I've seen start with using the included tool to remove the nut at the top of the antenna. I understand that part, but does the rubber grommet at the top have to be removed or does the tool somehow fit through it. If the grommet has to be removed does it simply pry out the hole? I'm trying hard not to butcher this thing up. Any help would be appreciated. I know in the end I'll most likely have to pull the entire motor, but I thought I'd tried this first and see if the mast comes out in one piece. Thanks, Tom
The rubber grommet does not have to come out. The socket slides into it. You may want to plan on taking the motor out cause there is probably some broken ribbon pieces in the flywheel. Its not hard at all. There are directions on the forum.
