I have a 1996 LT1 automatic CE and I was thinking of installing a Jet program chip # 19616. Does anyone have this type chip/module installed in their Corvette? If so, is it worth buying/installing? Do these type of chip/modules work? Jet shows a dyno sheet of a LT1 Camaro with HP increases of up to 22+ HP gain.
Wouldn't a 96 have a flash RAM...I don't think the 'chips' are removable on the last couple of years of vette (I don't know for sure though).
I've heard mixed reviews...they are a nice upgrade to auto transmission cars more than manual ones, typically. I had one for a 92 Z-28..could not tell the difference, but the chip pinged too much when I got a supercharger, so I suspect it was mostly an ign timing mod.
The Jet module I am looking at is like an adapter where you remove the listed cable going into the EMU (I think), then insert the module in its place and them plug the cable back into the Jet Module.

piggy backs suck, especially since the 1994-1996 ECM's are a little more advanced and easy to reprogram. The only real use for the piggy back is trying to be stealth with a warranty, but that obviously isn't an issue anymore.
Pr0zac, thanks for the information but, after looking at the program it looks too complicated for me. It looks like the program requires much more knowledge about computers and car management than I have.
