LT1 head gasket ?
I need new head gaskets and I went to Autozone and now I have questions.
1) There are 18 different head gaskets from $22 to $85, what is the difference between MLS bore bead combustion seal and Copperwire combustion seal?
2) What does "Minimal brinelling of aluminum heads" mean?
3) what does "Stainless steel core laminate construction" mean?
This is a stock engine that I am going to polish the heads, while there off.
Also, is it really necessary to replace the head bolts?
Thanks in Advance!!

on a stock lt1 right about 11:1. i don't think it will be a significant gain in hp but it will make your quench better.

GM Headgasket is just fine 10168457 $30
And yes. TTY bolts should be replaced.
ARP 134-3701 head bolts $70

Composition gasket for LT1/LT4 engines.
Compressed thickness is 0.050".
that and the piston .035 in the hole makes for a fanastic quench. although the gm gasket is a quality gasket its not ideal. if you are that hung up get an impala gasket. they are .028 compressed thickness.

Would you advise the use of copper spray for gaskets that were meant for iron blocks with iron heads? (when used with aluminum heads on an iron block)

all head gaskets need to be larger then the bore for proper sealing.

I've read contradicting advise. I asked a question. It was not a remark.
Questions end with these "?"
Remarks end with these "."
