Default 4+3 to 700R4

I am getting rid of the clunky 4+3 in my 87. I have a 700R4 from an 87, complete under hood harness, shifter, center console and brake pedal assy. Looks like the yard chopped off the wires on the shifter. Does anyone have any idea what I will need to do with that? Do I need to feed the clutch switch wires over there? If anyone has done this, I could use a little help before I tear the trans out.

I could also use a good set of wiring diagrams if anyone has them. The ones in my book suck.
Thanks

There is a switch at the base of the auto shifter
Starter inhibitor wires from clutch switch have to be extented to the switch on shifter,
Back up light wires from trans need pulling up through the floor and running to switch on shifter
You will need the correct plug and wiring to connect the TCC control circuit to the auto and a auto memcal unless you do manual control of the convertor lockup

Thanks Rod. It sounds like a pretty easy job to me, just the wires on the schematics I have don't match whats on the shifter assy I have. Looks like I will need a FSM to get an accurate view.

I did this years ago. Definitely need a FSM to figure out what you're doing. I used to have an auto with a clutch pedal. I have since cut the pedal off and have a relatively small brake pedal (compared to a factory automatic).

What's the difference between a preliminary FSM and the regular FSM? Other than the price... There seems to be a few of both on e-bay and the prelim's go for about half the price.

Typical wiring.

There is also a another pair of wires that provide indication to the ECM that the trans is in P /N for idle purposes ; so three switches on auto shifter base.

The white (prelim ) is the one sent to the dealership when the car is 1st released; the red (final) is the one that has any revisions or changes made during the production year.
My white copy and the elec supplement has kept my '87 going for 10 years.

Thanks again Rod, I think I will still get the prelim. If it kept yours going, it can keep mine going and get me through the conversion.
