Backfiring
Trying to figure out a problem I am having with my 82 TA w/CFI. It backfires out of intake manifold when I mash the throttle. I checked all vacuum lines and did find the hose bad going to the MAP sensor. Replaced it along with the sensor. Checked timing. Before checking, I jumper the diag. port A-B to disable electronic timing advance. (some models you have to disconnect the EST) I keep timing at 6 degrees BTDC to spec and it will backfire. Set timing to 10-12 degrees BTDC and the backfire goes away. Any ideas?
