I am in the process of ordering replacement rotors for my 95 vette. I don't know if I have Heavy duty brakes or standard duty brakes. What is the difference? Can I use the heavy duty rotors if I currenty have standard duty rotors? Thanx for your help!

If you are still stock you have the J55 (bigger 13" front rotors)
1) You have Heavy Duty brakes (J55 option, 13" front rotors)
2) The difference is only the size of the front rotors. The calipers are (I believe) the same, as are the pads, just a difference in the mounting brackets on the front. Don't take my word on that though...
3) No, you would have to buy new caliper mounting brackets to use standard rotors on your J55 car.
FYI, all '95 and '96 cars came with J55 brakes standard. Also, www.corvetterecycling.com is a great place to get rotors. They have new-in-box AC Delco rotors for $20 each, a price which you would be hard pressed to beat even with cheap Chinese stuff.

I was going to post about the 20 dollar OEM rotors at Corvette Recycling and the brembo pad closeout at Tire Rack I even have the link opened in another tab to attach it but I got sidetracked.......Damn attention deficit disorder

The calipers are different as well, slightly wider than those with JL9 because the 13" rotor is thicker.

I bought a set of 4 rotors from them 6,000 miles ago. Cannot beat their price for NOS oem rotors.
