door ding problem

door ding problem
Hello,
my door chimes only seem to work when the car is cold. When the car warms or the weather, they stop working.
This is both the key ignition chimes and the door ajar lights on signal.
Any ideas?

there are two different warnings;
one when the key is in the ignition and the door is open
and another when the lights are on and the door is open regardless of the key.
They are the same sound, different frequency of ding.
Mine both work, but only under the right conditions.

Hello,
On my 91, the chime module wouldnt work either. However, I was able to fix the chimer. All I did was to remove and disassemble the chimer, and re-solder the joints where the plug-connectors are soldered on the PCB. Been working for almost a year now.
Obviously, the hard part is removing the dash top to get to the chimer box (really not that hard, but tedious).

Mine only chimes when it wants to mess with me.
It usually doesn't chime but one day it did as I was getting out and it scared the crap out of me. I thought is was going to blow up or something.
