Default Differences between L98 and LTx heads?

Is there a difference that can be overcome within the differences? Just thought I would look into wether you can mount L98 Heads (better and cheaper AFR selctions for example) onto an LTx engine.
Pictures are always a good way to show the difference.

I remember Tom Wong telling me about an LTx engine he was working on that had SBC heads. Seems like the conversion price for the heads was $300 or $400.

Would be the reverse of this ? Scroll down

Would have to make coolant holes in the heads to match LTX block and redrill intake bolt pattern

...also have to address the fact that the LT1 intake is dry while the Gen 1 heads flow coolant thru the intake and there is a steam vent line at the rear of the LT1 heads but not the Gen 1 heads. The steam line is due to the reverse flow cooling.

Hell of an experiment to save $300 only to find out the cooling flow is fubar'ed and you overheat the engine. JMO

Makes sense to just go with LTx heads. I wish GM would have just stuck with GENI tech, for the most part.

That sounds about right, or you could go with a 421.

The 427 Bill Mitchell engines sound good. A friend had one here in Hawaii in his C3. Super Sweet.
