I have a 1993 with a broken turn signal, (won't turn right or activate high beams). I am based in Australia, and I am trying to isolate the exact part that is broke to order a new one, however all the online stores don't have photos of parts or of the part that is broke. Can someone please post or email me an assembly diagram so that I can make the repair. TIA
Welcome to the '93 club, several of us have the same problem. My 93 won't engage the high beams unless I yank on it hard and then it feels like it's going to break.
Rex Ruby replaced his, I'll forward this to him and he can chime in on what he did.
Actually the part is a die cast metal part that actuates the switch seen above and it is permanently attached to the wiper control switch which is $115 I had the very same problem and ordered the switch above thinking that was what was broken and it turned out to be the wiper switch.... Chevrolet Dealer only item it has not been released to aftermarket yet
I actually had a good dealer experience with mine. My lever set up to where it wouldn't hold 'up' for a right turn, and I had to flex it forward to the point where it was popping the back cup off every time to get the brights to come on.
I took the car in to get the floppy tilt wheel problem fixed, and when I got the car back, the flop was gone AND the nice tech had restored my control stalk to normal operating condition. No charge for the stalk fix, $400 for the tilt wheel repair. :D
Thanks for the advice, it is a diecast metal piece that is broke. Do you know of any GM dealers who have a web site for part orders, that would ship internationally? :)
