door panels

need help with door panels not sure if the door panels would work
ok im looking for door panels for my car the brand new types out their do not have the speak hole for the bose system would that still work
kinda lost on that heres a pic of a panel would this work for a 1987
the 2nd pic is what came with my car but i dont have them on my car
so im guessing the other c4 doors are for after 89? but would they still work
i belive they hide the speakers after 89 with carpete? or was the bose system defrent?

still learning the in side of the vette not use to having a wiper swich on door to me thats odd lol but then agin the pod radio that came with the digtal camaro was even more odd

you have to cut out the new speaker holes yourself when you buy a new panel. Not a big deal at all. use the old panel for a template and triple check your measurements. Brand new razor knife does the job. Its easy to do but a bit of a pain putting back in the driver side panel. Pay attention to where all the wires are routed when you take off original panel. Take pics. I also bought the foam inserts for noise, they go on easy enough. You also may want to order a bunch of the plastic inserts that except the panel screws as the old ones get stripped and may not hold a screw, i think they were $1 each,14 does both doors and for $25 you can get a new interior screw set. not trying to get you to spend more money but I just went through this and these were some of the things I experienced. Wilcox had the best prices and forum member discounts. good luck

That looks like my 1995 door panel and my bose speakers are down by the feet. also the top left part of the door panel looks thicker on my 95 than what picture #2 looks like. I'm new to corvettes and don.t know much.... I'm trying to post pictures but dont know but try here

I agree with it looking like a 95ish model door panel. you can see the little storage door there on the handle/arm rest. (or is that drivers side only?)
I have a 90, and the piece that curves out by the door jam is seperate some what a seperate piece opposed to the 95ish smooth lines.
Buddy of mine pulled it out and made a cloth one with speakers mounted in it.
And the 90's up have the speakers mounted on the frame rail/floor covered in a carpet like material

They are identical to factory. If the vette came with a base radio, there were no speakers in the door. Making a panel without the hole, allows them to sell them to someone with Bose system or base radio.

You would figure with so many Bose systems sold for 84-89 that they would have the panels cut for the Bose. And then just not cut the Bose hole for the few with the base radio.

well that dumb be couse off line mine came with the speak cut out with gill so how do they sale them with out?
