I have Long Term FT at +9% or 140. I have checked for exhaust leaks, vacuum leaks, anything that might make it lean and I can't find a thing. Can a MAF be weak or not calibrated correctly? It is the same one that was on the car when I got over two years ago. Could it have been replaced with a F Body MAF? Aren't they different? How would I know if it is off a F Body?
The only 2 ways I have heard of checking a MAF is to disconnect it and if the motor runs better with it not hooked up , its bad.. The second way is if the filiment wire inside is broken you can tap it with a screwdriver or something similar and if the motor starts running differently its bad..There may be ways to check it with a meter but someone else need to chime in on that. You can check the numbers on the MAF, there should be a reference somewhere that will let you know if the one you have is for your year car.. Weav , have you replaced the 02 sensors, this can cause a lean condition, also partially clogged injectors can cause this ,,,Good luck....WW
