Hey guys,
I'm looking into some mufflers to pair with my x pipe, and I'm pretty confident that I want either powersticks or cobrasticks (http://www.classicchambered.com/classic/products.html)
Does anyone have experience with either of these? Any sound clips? Opinions?
I've also considered the flowmaster series 10's and dynomax bullets
i would be much more interested in flow rather than sound. and if maximum power potential and flow are of any concern to you, I'd suggest any one of the "bullet" style mufflers. Very free flowing type mufflers. I was originally going to go with dynomax myself.
I have had direct experience with a variety of flowmaster mufflers (definitely not the best flowing of the bunch), but they are VERY loud (40 series which is commonly used on mustangs and corvettes).
of course i've also heard several Mustang Cobra's with dynomax bullets, and they sound mean as he11

Ya, the bullets are 4db's quieter than open headers lol. I might as well just go with straight pipe in that case. I know that these powersticks are 3" all the way through (no bottlenecks or anything). I'm just wondering if they are significantly quieter than open headers cause I'm wanting a mean/loud/deep sound
Bullet type mufflers arent going to quiet the car much at all.
I want the car to be very loud, but my main concern is tone. I want deep and mean, not all high pitched and tinny. I ordered an x pipe that's supposed to arrive tomorrow

It will be deep, had them on my ZR1. Sounded like a Big Block going down the street. That was with a pair of dynomax super turbos in addition to the bullets. Resonated like a bitch though.
i have had the 3" powersticks on my L98 fbody before...single 3" with about 20" body length I think it was. with no cats its pretty loud even on a stock motor. Much louder than the flowmaster 80 series i had.
It sounded good. Made the car sound like it was cammed up, it just had a choppy tone to it at idle. I had a few soundclips on youtube.
They arent much quieter than bullets but would be a touch quieter just because of the baffling inside them. Either one will be somewhat loud.
I got bullets on my dual 3" system now and its abit louder than my single 4" with a dynomax ultraflow round case "bullet style" muffler. But overall the car is tame. Sounds sorta like an exhaust mild cam L98 but really its a twin turbo 401ci motor. turbos help quiet things down.
Once warmed up and slow idle speed sets in, the car is fairly quiet for what it is. I'd say is just alittle louder than my full exhaust bolt on L98 was with the powerstick.
With a higher compression motor its going to be very loud with bullets or powersticks on an exhaust with no cats or resonators
Someone on here mentioned that their friend's muffler shop was going out of business, and he had a few short powersticks in stock. He said he was willing to let them go at $30/each plus shipping. I might just have to take up that offer. Got my x pipe today
