85 Dash Cluster Microprocessor
I took it to a local used Corvette dealer and they regularly get them and subcontract the work to fix them.
Well, everything seems good except for the microprocessor. The subcontract shipped it back to the dealer with the information and said its a discontinued part and they can't get another one or fix this one.
So now I'm stuck again with a bad cluster.
In talking with Ecklers, they subcontract the work as well. They called the company they subcontract too and the gentlemen said that they actually repair or replace the microprocessor if it is bad.
Has anyone had this similar issue diagnosed? I was told if I could find a microprocessor somewhere the local place will continue the repair. Would Ecklers be the better alternative?
I have also found this website http://www.corvettedashclusterservice.com/ and talked to them. They seem to have the best price and seemed very knowledgeable. Does anyone have any experience with them?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Can't wait for spring.

Did you first go to batee.com and read what you could there? The only thing I've heard go wrong is that the solder cracks from age and vibration and there is a short of the components....or the bulbs are out or the screen is cracked or sunburned.....
I fixed my cluster while watching a Sunday night Football game....that included going to Target to buy the right size nut driver...
Nuttin' 'bout a microprocessor....
