Default Help, please -fuel filter

I have a 1994 Vet with two annoying, drive me crazy, problems.
1. Engine stumbles badly on low speed acceleration. I had another car that did this and it was a fuel filter that needed replacing. Can someone tell me where the fuel filter is?

2. The second problem is driving me crazy- when I start the car, I turn the key and nothing happens, but...if I hold the key in the on position for 7 or 8 seconds, the car will start. Some kind of delay happens when I turn the key but it always starts after several seconds.

On my '93 it's located along the passenger side frame up next to the right catalytic. It's a PITA to change out, but it can be done with patience.

Here's a good thread on it. There's more up here if you search on 'replace fuel filter' in the C4 section.

Your starting problem sounds like the solenoid contacts in the starter. You can either replace the whole starter or change the contacts which is pretty simple. Look up Nippon denso solenoid in a web search and you will come up with companies that sell them.
