Water Pump?? 89 convert
I have 89 corvette convert. My low coolant light comes on and off. this weekend car overheated. now I have add coolant to radiator but still get a low coolant light on and off. The heater blows hot air sometimes and sometimes just cold. it seems as the lower radiator hose is colder than the top radiator hose. could my water pump be going out?? the engine did get hot and started to ping as I got off the highway before i could shut it down. any suggestions??

Could you have gotten air in the system?
How much coolamt did you have to add?
Pump bad, not leaking used to be worn impellers, but that would be all the time, not what appears to be intermittent
