Rattling rear view mirror

My left rear view mirror rattles and shakes pretty bad...what is involved in replacing that? It's the kind that has the defroster in the rear view mirrors also, although I think all Vettes past a certain year have that. Thanks!

Is it the whole thing, or just the glass? There is a replacement trunion from Ecklers. Hope this helps.

If its the entire housing that is rattling ...take the panel off the inside and tighten the two bolts holding the mirror to the door. I think they are 10mm

Sorry, I should of been more specific. It's just the mirror part, not the housing. Thanks, I'll check with Eckler's.

I found it... http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1482 So do I just pop out the mirror with a screwdriver or something flat and put this new trunion on?

The mirror just pulls out...it is somewhat delicate...wait till you get the new one so you will see what you have to do to work it out.

Just take out the lenses. Just pop them out with a screwdriver and put silicone around them later. My '93 had a rattle in the mirror too. :cheers:

The mirror base of my side mirror is loose. How can I get inside it to tighten the bolts? Do I have to take off the inner door panel? Seems like way to much trouble.
