I went to start the Vette today and dead battery. When wife and I took it for a ride 2 weeks ago and did not shut the door not all the way. So I charged the battery and then it started, but while driving it will flash SYS then the 14.0 or what ever i am getting ?
What do you mean 14.0?Was that battery voltage(digital)?Sys light was flashing,on,& where is that light(sys) located-center console info,in instrument cluster?
You can check for codes if you want but more than likely you need to replace the battery. If the battery is a few years old, and even if you charged it, it may not be in good condition as a new one might be and the CCM can sense this. It will randomly flash the SYS indication even though all things look good to you.
If the car can’t sit there for a week and stay charged, then the battery may be marginal. Leaving an older battery discharged for any length of time can be the final straw and the kiss of death for it. Older batteries can’t tolerate any abuse especially being discharged.
Most likely if the battery is replaced, no codes need to be cleared in regard the battery problem and the SYS will go away.
