Default Problems with the chime module

My chime module acts like it has a loose connection to it, will someone enlighten me as to where this module is located.

Are you talking about the chime when you open the door? Mine is doing the same thing, it sounded like it's sick then finally just went out.

Yup I am talking about the door/seatbelt chime module. I wish that I had the Corvette Service Manual Book #2 so that I could find it, but I only have book #1. Mine will chime irratically/intermitantly as if a wire is just barely hanging on to it. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. I have to tear into my dash to fix the start enable relay so I figured since the dash is already torn apart I might as well knock out two birds with one stone if they are located anywhere near each other. Right now the chime is not working at all so I couldn't just listen for it while the dash is appart to find it.

Yeah, mines totally out now. So it's to a point now that I don't even remember it.

By the way, I use to live in Gainesville, awesome place when school is in. My brother still lives there, He works at Stripes Motor Sports....

If mine would just totally die, that would be fine too then I would forget about it; but it won't lol it just drives me nuts by working part of the time and sounding funny. Yeah I graduated here in electrical engineering and found a related job here. By the way I like your picture from the moon! One of these days I will get a sig picture but I am a nubie here. I have had my corvette for about 2 months now as a second car and looooove it.

You should be able to still put up a sig, just register for the home page under the Home Pages tab. This will allow you to upload pictures to use for a sig.

Yeah, I just edit a picture of my car and pasted it to this picture of earth I found. I thought it turned out pretty  This is my second vette. I had a 88 35th Anniversary was my first one. So I've had vettes for about the last 6 years and I love it too! It's something that gets you hooked.

I am working on mine at this very moment...Mine is behind the multiuse panel above the radio. In mine its a blue box the size of an index card on the right. I would suspect yours is there also.

Is this what makes the chime?

Its all part of a sequence of events...There are four wires running from the chime buzzer which makes your bells and whistles (blue box, yours may be different) The pink wire/black stripe is power, you have one continuious black ground from the buzzer. the yellow wire runs to the Idiot light (pin 18) and a black wire coming out of the idiot light (pin 2) to seat belt. You also have a + black wire running from the chime to the seatbelt. So fix it and ring a ding ding

'90 and up have a different dash assembly. Things may be moved around a bit.
