Steve Kelly. Number one out of 33k people is not to bad huh?

Todd did you guys ever go to the extream like running 0 weight oil and running it on four quarts and take seats out of the car? You have your sway bar off? What shocks are you running and full slicks or ET streets?

No, I have never tried 0 weight oil...I run a full pan. I have removed the sway bar many years ago....(12lbs) I have had the passenger seat out before, it doesn't make a huge difference in et, its not that heavy... few hundredths ( I do not remember the weight) But, if you're ever at a 11.0x, pull it, you'll probably get what you're after. I run Monroe shocks right now, but that will be changing soon.... probably QA1's, but not sure. I run MT ET Fronts on a weld 15 x 3.5 rim and 26" x 11.5 x 16" ET Streets on a special edition Weld XP Series rim that was designed to clear late model brakes.
There are a lot of little tricks to finding a tenth or two..... none by themselves will do it, but they add up. Most important thing for you, is loosen that converter.... I saw its rated at 3k, but you were 60 footing high 1.5's on slicks..... on a sea level track in good air and a good track, at the traps you're running, you should be easy low 1.5's......some converters are different than others, even the same brand.....you can have a tight 3000 rpm converter that only flashes up to around 3200 rpm, or a loose one that flashes up to around 3800 rpm.... I think yours is on the tighter side for the rating. Do you know your true flash stall ? To me, that is the most important #......
A few easy things to do to find et, is first... drive straight... stay in the groove, a lot of bracket racers wonder why their et moved 2 or 3 hundredths from one pass to another with the same air.... they didn't drive straight and didn't realize it, it'll add-up if you make a 1/4 loop vs straight path. Of course shallow stage.... and I mean shallow stage. Most do not understand the importance of this when et hunting.... even a single inch will show-up on the timeslip... just barely flicker that bottom bulb. If you're going to run skinnies.... make sure you run the MT ET Front, its worth a couple hundredths vs a radial front skinny..... big difference in driven rotational weight. There are lots of little things..... I'd love to see you hit a 10 second et with that set-up.....what would be special about that is how docile of a set-up it is..... 219/219 @ .050" hyd roller cam and yet high 10's in a naturally aspirated 3200 lb car...... at least I'd be impressed.
good luck
Well a buddy calls me up Friday and says that the track is open for a friends of family race. I said what the heck and ran my street tires. As you know you can't hook a street tire like you can slicks. I have to get some slicks.
With my former 87, & a simular set-up to yours, my typical mph would be ~118 with a decent hook off the line. I did sneak into the 120mph range, but it would only happen when I spun off the line. Some people say that it is normal to gain mph w/spin off the line.

Around that same time period, Jay383 had simular experinces w/ the 120mph. (Jay now has a C5 ZO6).
I would love to see a SuperRam, 219 tap the 10s'. Good luck!

So I wonder if anyone will be able to hit high 10's in 2010 with our similiar set ups??
