I had the air cond guy around to gas up the air con on my 85, put on a new accumulator, vacuumed system, pressure tested, but the compressor wouldnt engage, he checked all the switches etc he could find and they were ok, then checked terminals on the compressor, earth was ok but no power.
Ran a wire from the battery to the terminal and the compressor engaged, but no fan start up (air con guy said at least one fan must start up on compressor engagement)
does anyone know what the problem might be before i take it to the auto electrician ? Could it be a relay ?
thanks for the input guys, i checked the fuse first and its ok, it seems as if the power wire to the actual 2 prong terminal on the top of the compressor is not supplying power, the earth prong checks out ok, the power prong on the top of the compressor shows as an earth when checked with a tester ?
i dont mind the mechanics but the auto electrics on these cars drive me nuts !
