How do you guys install the superram, with or without
some type of sealant on the gaskets. Its pretty much
impossible to get the thing together before that thin
layer of silicon drys. Just wondering who does what?? Thanks
Kwick88,
I used some *tack* type sealer the second time around. Seemed to help hold everything were it needed to be during installation. Not that anyone  would put the runners on the wrong side, but make sure you pay attention to the difference in the two runners. DON'T ASK!
If you need anything at all during the install, just let me know. Also do yourself a favor and do two things before you even start.
1. Drill the through holes in the runners that are used to secure the plenum out to 5/16" (double check that size with the bolt heads)
2. Slot those same bolts that go through those holes so you can get them from the top with a screw driver. (I also put RTV sealant on the threads of those bolts).
Remember to take your time and ask questions. One other quick thought. Dont even think about tightening any of the bolts lower or upper until EVERY bolt is started and almost bottomed out. Good Luck.

Yeah. Who would do such! :bb
I did that my first time installing one. Can anyone help me find this vacuum leak?
I found that ether works much better at pin-pointing the leak. The propane seems to spread out everywere in the tight confinds of the SR and make it hard to detect exact location. I used ether and knew exactly were the leak was. Before I thought it was around the injectors, when in fact it was ~4" away, and the air currents must have been pulling the propane. To each his own though. Use whatever you feel comfortable with.
I used sealant on all the gaskets!
I put a very thin coat on the surface and pushed the gasket on, after a few mins of the glue setting up I assembled it. I only used teh glue on one side of the gasket.
I glued the runner to plenum gaskets, to the bottom of the plenum.
I glued the runner to base gaskets to the runners.
I also glued the throttle body gasket to the plenum, as well as the plenum lid gasket to the plenum.
I took the super ram apart a long while after I put it on, the parts came apart easily, and the gaskets were in perfect condition. I reinstalled it all without changing the gaskets and never had a problem.
Also, installing the plenum can be trickey.
put the runners on, but leave them loose so they can whiggle around. then put the plenum on. after you have all the plenum bolts started, tighten the runners down, then tighten the plenum down. Other wise you will not get the alighnment of the plenum to runner bolts holes set.
Get an allen head ball type socket for 1/4" ratchet and a fairly long wobble extension and whatever ratchet you have. You will still need to remove the valve cover, but not the rocker with this combo.
This is a good question, I have done it 3 times and used sealant for fear of vacuum leaks because the SR is not exactly a piece of precision workmanship. However, it takes considerable time to get all the hardware in and tight so the sealant may set before your done. If the guys have had success without, I say go without.
OK, now here's a dumb question.....the two threaded holes inside the plenum that connect to the egr passage; there were no plugs with the SR kit, but I take it everyone is plugging those holes so only the front passages are open???
