This guy is selling "TPI dent removal" kits....
And take a nice look at that photo. I took that pic on top of my washing machine a few years back. After forcing some ball bearings through the runner tubes to repair them.
"Specially sized, custom made *****...." :laughing3: He's selling this "kit" of chrome ***** on ebay for $52 (with shipping), when all you really need to do is spend $15 at Mcmaster Carr. These are standard SAE sized chrome steel *****. He's sold 95 of these "kits".
Here's a guy on thirdgen who bought the kit and used whatever crack smoking instructions the ebay guy added with it, and destroyed his runners. Based on what I'm seeing the guy's instructions are idiotic, and involve pounding several ***** all the way through the curved runner, which is not the right way to do it, and will damage the runners:
Ok I don't mind taking my free time to spread useful knowledge around, and I'm sure I'm not the first guy to try this, but geez I guess the idea of people making a profit off my free contributions, and not even doing it right, offends me. In the photo you can clearly see I ported out the end of the runner seperately from running the chrome ***** through it, so the photo is misleading at best as he's using it to claim the ***** did that. The chrome ***** did remove the dents and the bolt clearances though. Some of the other info his his ad is pulled straight from my thread here 4 years ago on it, the rest he must have pulled from a fairy tale, because the rest of his numbers are 100% b.s.
Even cheaper I just laid the runner on a piece of wood and rolled a large socket across the runner "dimple" while smaking the socket extension with a small hammer.
Sounds like a guy trying to make a buck in tough times. Is this worse than the guy who steals from his employer by spending his time on the internet at work?
years ago I posted how to get a vortec head to a safe 525" lift and an unsafe 550" lift with no machining .... and field tested it myself. when I posted it on the net I got .. well not the most favorable replies, yet you see the stuff for sale on ebay and even the big names have picked up on the idea and sell it.... so it happens.
