No spark, what is it?
We've got everything back together on my friend's z-28, now we don't have any spark. All the fuses are fine. We don't even get fire at the coil. That pretty much tells us that the opti is bad, unless there is something else? It was a used, although working when removed Opti.
The only other thing I can think of is that the car was converted to the newer style opti, using the cam pin drive instead of the gear setup, but that shouldn't matter.
Any ideas other than the opti. We have access to another one, we were going to try that tomorrow, but it's a PITA because our other opti is on another car. Anything else we can check quickly before we start tearing into cars?

Check and check again connections.. man, that's a lot of work only for an electrical issue.. You tested the coil? That's a heck of a lot easier to swap than the opti.

If you have the new opti it does not have the internal spark module that the old one had. If your zzzzz came with an external module find it and check/replace it. Look on the fornt of the driver's side head near the ground post. It's about 2 inches wide and 1 inch high. It's a lot cheaper than a new opti. What year is your car?
Good luck & keep us posted.
