Default Turn signal assembly

Have a broken turn signal lens. I have heard one has to remove the bumper to replace it. Any helpful hints?

What year Vette....which trun signal front or rear? You don't need to remove the bumper

Take a look inside the bumper and see the screws you have to remove to drop out the assembly, the rear lens only has to screws to remove.

Now i'm not sure if you need to remove the Bumper to get it out. I think on my 90 you can unbolt it. But I think because the guy who I bought my 84 from wacked it into his front garage wall that I had to remove my front bumper to get it out cause it was shifted to the right about 8 inches. Pipe

When I painted my 93 I removed them. There is a metal spring clip the pushes the lens toward the front away from a structural member right by the light (oriented vertically).

You take loose a couple of fasteners that hold the spring in place and tap the spring clip to the middle of the car as I remember. And it will release. Putting the clips back is more work than removing them. I didn't like the whole process but is cleverly designed by an engineer without enough supervision.
