Hi.
The 85 is sensitive for knocks and with 8 BTDC may be too much. It depends also of the fuel. Even thought the engine do not knock when driving it may knock and the ignition is turned back and you lose power.
I am not sure about the adjustment if to do it for less knocks without the closed ignition regulation loop.
