Default Sinking Feeling

My 89' six speed will noticealby lose horsepower and give me a check service engine light as soon as it has reached operating temperature. Most of the time the light will stay on only for a brief period of time. A few times it has stayed on for the duration of the drive. My car has no catalytic converter, however, the pre-cats are still on the car. The original car clogged and had to be removed. I am wondering the same about the pre-cats. I am also wondering if I may have an injector going bad. The kicker is it only does it when the outside temperature is below 65 degrees. I have not experienced this above 70.

Pull the codes from the computer to give you an idea of what is wrong and where to start. When you check engine light comes on it should be storing a trouble code in memory.

Also, some local auto parts shops (like Advanced Auto) will scan codes for you for free.

(BTW: It's probably not your front cats. After all, they'd be clogged when cold too!)
