I am really chasing alot of stuff with this car and am ready to park/burn it.Today I have a code 34.I say today because every day it is something different.I have changed the MAF relays and no luck.I checked voltage on the connector(of the mass air sens) and the one pole I got 4.8 volts.Nothing on any of the other poles.I should see 12v somewhere, shouldn't I ?The car is an 88 model.
According to my 1986 FSM (not sure if 1988 is the same) the ECM provides a 5 volt signal on the signal line (CKT 998, dark green wire, pin C at the MAF). The MAF power relay provides 12 volts to the MAF at pin E (purple wire, CKT 993).
Re-inspect you wiring and connections to the MAF relays. You may have gotten a bad relay. Try checking relay operation out of the car with a power supply and multi-meter.
Yesterday I had a code 34.Today I cleaned the MAF and I got a code 33.The car won't idle, and is running verry rich. With the MAF plugged in or not the car runs the same.I will check voltages with key on/no start and see what I find.Does anyone have any other sugestions? This thing is driving me bonkers!

Check your connector and wiring at the MAF. I'm guessing you electrically disconnected the MAF to clean it. Whatever you did seems to affect the wiring/connector at the MAF. Next step may be to get some scan software and see what the ECM is doing.
