No need to replace the dist, just do the cap.
I installed a HyperTech Coil/cap/rotor combo; it puts out 54kV up to around 6k RPM whereas our stock unit rolls off around 5k RPM.

your stock distributor has a 7 pin module in it. Be sure if you change it, you get a module for your car that has 7 pins. The Module controls the coil saturation and provides computer information for engine timing..
Other than that, get a higher voltage coil, better cap, etc.
