LOW TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM TroubleShooting
I have been told that there is material (Check List) to determine which tire sensor is malfunctioning & causing the SYSTEM Light to come on. My System light comes on after driving for a while. I just had my rims refinished & they screwed up one of the sensors, BUT WHICH ONE? Can anyone point me to the material so that I can download it. Thanks 1993 LT1 Coupe

Sori, didn't see the year the first time around. You will have to ground a particular pin on you DLC. Its A &... the other I don't know. Someone with a Helms for your year will be able to help.
You can do like I did, and just take out the bulb for the LTPWS. Or to find which one is going out, just take it to a gas station start letting the air out of one of tires until the low\flat tire light comes on. Then air it back up and go to the next one, until the low\flat tire light doesn't come on. Then you will know that's the one going out. :D
Agent,
There is a simple procedure to figure it out.
1. Get a good tire guage and make sure each tire is filled to 30 PSI.
2. Pick a tire, and lower the pressure buy leting air out till it has 20 PSI.
3. Drive the car above 30 MPH. The Low Pressure light should come on after a few hundred feet.
4. If it does, sensor is good.
5. If Low Pressure does not come on, that is your bad sensor
6. Fill air up on low tire to 30 PSI and repeat on next.
Then you can pull the sensor off the wheel to find the color and order the replacement. I hear they can be hard to come by.

Take it to your chevy dealer or anyone that has a diagnostic tool that will give you codes. There is a different code for each tire. For example: code 34: right front tire sensor, etc. If they have a way of reading codes and a code book, they can tell you. For codes (and to see what I'm talking about) go to: http://www.vettenet.org-ac_codes.html.
Sorry again, can't find anything on that site for the ltpws either. Try a search on this forum. Type in LTPWS. should bring you some results. If not, let me know and I'll look up the codes in my Helms manual for you. I have a 92, but I think they're the same for 93.
