What is a good set of spark plugs to use, Its for an 86. I am looking for a better plug then stock, and maybe even wires? does someone have advice? thanks
Street Thunder just tested 12 plugs in a small block chevy and the NGK G-power made the most HP and TQ About 2.5 HP and TQ better than the rappid fire
Only onle plug tested better and it's some Bosch mystery spark plug that is a surface gap plug that you won't find in the stores.
Also the retail on the NGK is 3.15 per plug
I have NGK plusg in my blown 541, LSX 440, 2 sportbikes, Supercharged Road King and my Volvo I drive everyday. Always thought they were good but did not know that they beat out 11 others
Will pick up a set for a vette next time I'm in the auto parts

Do you have a link or something to the info? I wanna read up
I want some of those mystery spark plugs!!!
The tests seem pretty good, but there was no control test! I think the results had a decent standard deviation so they should be reproducible results... Not too much of a difference between spark plugs, but those mystery bosch spark plugs are really cool/different!!!
I like the info they gave about the melting pt of Platinum vs Iridium and that would make sense that Iridium plugs should last longer do to the higher melting point since only the tip is coated...
I guess if in a few years I cant find those Bosch "top secret" plugs then I will go with the NKG G-power...
Does anyone know anything about the Bosch "mystery"/"top secret" plugs???
Since you have an '86 you need to make sure you get the right plugs for your heads, aluminum or iron, there is a big difference. Don't go by what you take out.

What is the big difference between the plugs for either aluminum or cast iron?

I have run the NGK plug that is like the Bosch plug. But that was in a Prostock motorcyle engine. Suzuki 4 cylinder. We run the NGK G power plug in the prostock V twin now. I'm going to do some checking this weekend in Gainesville. If I find some I will let you know. Also need to check my contact list for someone that works for Bosch. 99% sure I have one just never used it.
