Dad asked if I would put it in for him because he likes to drive the car when I am away at college. He said if I did it over spring break he would buy the parts for the heater core and pay for my power stearing pump that I just put on. Haven't got the dredit car bill yet. Honestly it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I deffently was a pain in the butt to get out. I am just praying that I get the thousand or so pieces from the dash back together properly.
3 Hours!!! Fabulous! I think it took m three DAYS to get that far. The deal you should have made with Dad, was you pay for the parts (I think mine cost $29.95) and he buy the LABOR! If my memory serves me, you're better than half way done. At least, NOW you know where everything goes. Good luck.
You like the working suite. I kept messing up my good closes so I went to goodwill and bought this old mechanics outfit for 10 bucks. :D
$29 bucks for the heater core. Damn my dad paided twice that. He got a direct replacement AC/delco unit. Where did you get yours at? Hope he didn't get ripped off.

AutoZone. They were substantially less than Checker. I would guess that the Delco is a better part. Mine was made in Mexico. The Delco...???
I take pretty good care of my cooling system. I got 18 years and 140,000 miles from the last one. I hope I don't own this car another 18 years. At least not as my daily driver, as it is now.
I finished the job this morning. It took me an extra two hours to complete the job for a grand total of five hours. Why would a proffesional who has done this many times tell me it was a 6 to 8 hour job if I did it in five? Maybe I just got lucky and everything worked in my favor.

Simple. They go by "book" rate. They charge you for 8, do it in 4 and then do another!
