Default Diagnosing CCM Code 41

1992 6spd

Just installed rebuilt/reman CCM; now dealing with a C41

So I'm down at step#4 and I measure 36K ohms resistance,
Q1 this is considered a short right?
Q2 what is the best way to track down this short?

Thanks in advance for the help

You used the J35616?

Sounds like a short, if you used the adapter.
Still think the CCM is bad.

No, I just used a DMM, the CCM connector can be probed easily.
(I used a small piece of rigid wire to do the ECM connector)

In many cases, a CCM error about "loss of serial data" turns out to be a problem with the ECM, not the CCM.

The CCM requests data from the ECM over the serial-link between them; after about three tries to get the data from the ECM without success, the CCM sets the error code.
The CCM is probably functioning properly because it is recognizing the problem.
The ECM is blissfully unaware there is a problem, even though the ECM is the problem.

The '92 and '93 ECM is notorious for this problem.
