Besides getting headaches, what are the other signs (inhilation related) to having an exhaust leak?
I'm seem to be getting a headache (tonight a pretty bad one) after driving my car around for 20-30 minutes or more. I don't know if it's the noise and resonation or what, but it's really getting to me.
If it's an exhaust leak, would I still get a headache even though the car is moving most of the time? Wouldn't that keep the gases from entering the passenger compartment?
I don't have sleepyness or neausea... just headaches. I guess I'll try taking my gunrange ear plugs next time I drive and see how that goes :jester
Yeah, i know there is always fresh air going in ... i guess the majority of that air is coming in from the outside air fan pickup on the passenger side over by the blower motor. Perhapse I have a header leak on the passenger side.
I"ll have to listen closely, though I can't hear anything but the engine :D heeheh
If you have an exhaust leak, it will tick like you are running without valve covers. Loudly! 'll bet the headaches are just from the added resonance of gutted cats. There will be an increase in odor running no cats as well.

Yep, there is DEFINITELY a different smell to the exhaust! And I'll bet you're right about the headaches... it's probably because of resonance.
I had an exhaust leak from one of my headers about a week ago. One of the bolts worked its way loose. Trust me, you would know it. Sounds kinda like a really bad loose rocker / rod knocking kinda noise.
