Default Window Motor Upgrade

The parts car I had recently had a new style window motor and lift assembly in it so I snagged it out. I understand you have to drill new holes in the bottom of the door and these assemblies usually have a template to drill the new holes. Anyone out there have this template? Maybe some measurements?

The old assembly is getting tired and its nice outside so I thought I might tackle it along with converting over to power door locks. Any tips on getting the old switches out of the bezel? I cant seem to apply the right force on the retainer slots to pop them out.

Well, you have two threads going at once.

Scissors style regulator: you can eyeball where those holes have to go. Place your regulator in the door and adjust it where you think it should be, then just eyeball the holes and drill them from under...you may need to "slot" the hole for some back and forth adjustment

Well Thanks J, maybe I should title it "While I have the door panel off"

I still have to finish up the install, drilling the holes in the bottom is first, then I can continue with the adjustments of the window. I ran out of time yesterday 'cause I had to drill out 5 of the 6 screws on the door panel face, then go get new hardware for that and the regulator.

Making sure the window rolls up with the door closed as well as open is turning out to be a PITA because the PO really didnt do a good job with the new weatherstrips and the window drags on em.

Got the switches out too, two small screwdrivers to catch the switch and bend back the tabs. I am amazed the 26 year old plastic didnt break.

Too many "While the door is apart" projects. It just never ends does it?
