Default Cleared up gear drive!

Just as I said I would, the gear drive problem is cleared up. I put a pete jackson gear drive for hyd. roller. cams except lt1-lt4 and it works great. It is not machined for noise. The car runs great, had it up to 105-110 and no problems what so ever. Right now you can't hear it at all but the car still has open headers, that will be corrected tomorrow and I will be able to definatly say that you can't hear it. LT1 edit is on the way to here soon, and that will definatly clarify no knock. This is looking up, can't wait to put one in my car now.

This was done with an electric water pump, is that right?

That sounds awesome. I'm going w/ gear drive with a carbed motor, but I opted for the one with noise.

Simon and Garfunkel have nothing on Exhaust and Geardrive. What harmonies!

:yesnod: When my opti finally craps out and I have to replace it, I'm going with the newer style, and a gear drive. I've already got the new timing chain cover.

Gathering parts slowly............. Now if I could just gather up a set of heads.

There are basically two types of gear drives. The noisy ones which usually say "machined for noise" and the quiet ones. The noisy ones sound like a supercharger, they whine like crazy. This is cool on a motor that doesn't have knock sensors and such, but it can play hell with the computer on a car that does have sensors. The Quiet ones are just that, very quiet and can be used without any computer problems.

It has something to do with how the gears are cut.
