Default Throttle Positioning Sensor attachment screw

I lost one of mine.

It's item #21 in the diagram here:

http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u=...03&grouptype=B

I took my remaining screw to Ace Hardware and it screws into a 10-32 hole on their sizing board, so I bought a 10-32 cap screw, but it doesn't even begin to thread into the throttle body. It looks like another proprietary GM fastener.

Compnine.com doesn't list it as an available part in the list above, nor do they provide a GM part number.

Any references, info, or spares someone might be willing to sell would be SINCERELY appreciated!

Thanks!

Ron

Since most of the fastners are metricon the C4, I would expece that to be a metric screw not an SAE (10-31)

That's what I had thought too, but when I got to Ace Hardware, the remaining screw would thread into any of the metric holes in the fit testing board that they had. It would only fit into a standard 10-32 hole.

The screw is metric with 4.5mm dia. It's a bastard size, so you might want to tap to a stainless allen head machine screw, that is available.
I went with a 5mm, but SAE would be probably easier to find, south of the border.

I assume that you checked with your local Chevrolet Parts Department and/or Napa store already? If so with no luck then call Gale Gee @ 570. 376.3421 - E-Mail: geescorvette@email.com or
Contemporary Corvette @ (800) 367-8388 and get them to send you a couple. Can't cost too much. Check it out.

Yeah, I checked with my local Chevy dealer. They don't list it as an individual part. It's only sold as part of the TPS "kit" which includes the sensor and other assorted parts. The kit itself (part #1711-2720) is listed as a "vintage part" and only a few dealers in the country still have any available. And they want $85.00 for it!! Throttle position sensors are $22 - $25 at any local parts store. Unreal.

Talk about getting a "screw".

One guy on LS1LT1.com wanted ONE banjo bolt for his steam tube. The tube that bolts to the back of the LT1 heads. He found one for $80.00!!! on EBay.

I sent him TWO for free; I even paid the postage. I feel that's what we're here for; to HELP each other.

You could have made $160 bucks on eBay not to mention $100 for truck freight.

THIS is the reason that the Corvette community is so strong. Nicely done Jake! People like you and lexman52 are what it's all about. Hopefully, someday I'll get the opportunity to help someone out as well.
