Oil filter damage? Might just have some sensor sender issues....or a cluster problem. Sensors are pretty inexpensive so they may be a good place to start....or pull a valve cover and see if oil spills all over the place when you start/run the motor.
The oil temperature sender is basically a variable resistor that changes resistance with engine oil temps, which changes the reading at the instrument cluster guage. Like the coolant temp sender. Since your oil temp guage never changes weather the car is hot or cold try this.
Unplugging the wire (should be green with white) coming off the oil temp sender should cause the reading in the dash to spike. Grounding it should spike it in the opposite direction. If it does, the sender is bad.
If the reading doesn't respond, then you have a wiring problem between the sender and the instrument cluster.

so just finished putting in a new oil pressure sending unit. Start up reads 50lbs warmed up to 220 14lbs at idle. Sounds wright, i hope.

Yep, sometimes there is an easy fix. My 91 Blazer's pressure gauge always reads 80# I don't care. The new sensor would cost more than its worth. The Vette on the other hand gets parts replaced before they fail.

oil press senders are very common...your 50 cold/14 hot is a bit on the low side for a low mileage engine, but not alarming, if it drops below 5 psi at hot idle, pocket your phone before leaving home.
