Anyone used a centrifugal Vortech sc before? I picked up a V1 for a pretty good price. Was on a 302 stang. Figured I could give it a try. Any input? Or a place I could get the mounting kit? I'd rather not make one.

there's plenty of guys here running them

the head unit doesn't actually cost that much

it's the rest of the kit that adds up.

I agree 100%, all the surrounding stuff is expensive
dedicated drive bbracket, big injectors and a tune (or the equp. to tune to do it yourself - which is worth learning), methanol injection (if you desire), wideband o2 sensor, aftermarket ECU (if you desire")

I know this doesnt apply to you, but dont ever get any of the shoddy kits put together by the big name supercharger manufacturers.

They are junk. The only good thing in them is the head unit itself.

Also, the FMU's in the kit (that rely on a booster pump to overpressurize your injectors under boost) run too rich, and are known to fail - leaving you with a lean condition that destroys your motor.

Also, you need a dedicated drive belt setup, that use a separate belt to drive your supercharger. This is separate than the belt driving the rest of your accesories. Otherwise you will get belt slip at the crank pulley.

Not sure on a C4 but on a C5 the blower is facing the motor. On a Mustang it's facing away from the motor. You may not be able to use that head unit as it may rotate the wrong direction for you C4. Vortech makes a very nice blower I had one on my C5. On my completely stock motor with only the Vortch blower setup the car made 510 RWHP. Not too shabby.

Ls-x engines respond incredibly well to nearly any mod.

With that said, he is right about the head unit being usable in our c4 applications.

Of course, the right person to talk to IS Greg (www.blowerworks.net).
