Default Different LT1 intakes?

When I was looking at my 94 and my fathers 93 I thought I saw a difference in the inake. A few inches behind the throttle body on my 94 there is an angled ridge cut out of the top of the intake and a line runs there, on my fathers it doesnt exist.

What is the difference other than that and will a 92-93 intake work on a 94+ LT1? It probably bolts up the same but is it a "must" to have that tube that runs over the intake and what do you do if you dont have it?

Thanks!

92-93 are batch fires and 94-96 are sequential firing systems.
You could use a 94-96 on a 92-3, but not the other way around.

That tube is there to keep the pressure equal and might have other uses, not sure there.

the 92/3 intake actually flows (air) better than the 94-6, due to the internal restriction of the roof depression on the later manifold to allow that 'cut-out'...the 'tube' is for fuel transfer, a modified fuel feed would suffice, very highly modified LT1's feed each rail separately anyway to prevent injector starvation.

Injectors don't know which manifold they are in... and computer doesn't know which intake or fuel rail is on the engine....

Haha....ok....lol

So....does it matter which you would use or can you simply make a cross-over pipe and have it be ok?

You just need the early fuel lines/rails (they are 1pc) from the 92-93 where the crossover line is at the rear of the intake.

Additionally the early lines/rails will fit on a 94 up intake manifold BUT the 94 up lines/rails will not fit on a 92-93 intake manifold.

Now I don't know if the lines on the car that connect to the intake manifolds lines/rails are different between early and late LTX C4's.... I do know the lines on the car are diffeent between F, Y and B Bodies.
