Contact Jon Banner at www.fuelinjectorconnection.com.

Buy the awesome Bosch III injectors for $169 a set and your engine will run Great! Also, check out Jon's injector videos at the top of the C4/Tech Performance section.

To check each injector, remove the connector and put your volt meter on the ohm scale. Next, touch the pos and neg wires to the injector terminals and read the results. It should read between 16.1-16.7 ohms anything less is a weak or failing injector. Do the test with the engine hot and cold.

There is a sticky by FIC and it is injectors 101 and yes you can ohm injectors to see if they are bad.
Best to do when hot, under 12 ohms is bad.
Sounds like a bad injector(s), bad FPR, fuel pump leaking or bad pulsator.
My vote would be bad pulsator, then injector.
The Pulsator is right beside the fuel pump and they leak after time, their function is to control how the fuel is sent through the system, i.e. smooth out the pulses of fuel coming out of the pump.

Also, your 88 has the Multec Fuel injectors which are not compatible with today's fuels which contain ethanol. Multec fuel injectors are not rebuildable.

I have an 88. The 88 had 22 lb. Bosch injectors. I installed 24 lb. Trick Flows and they work great. I did get a custom tune because the BLM was off and it ran a little rich.

For best performance, get a custom tune if you use anything other than stock injectors.

No, Multitec's are rebuildable and they are compatible once rebuilt.
The seals of all injectors in the 80's and 90's were not designed to deal w/ethanol's corrosiveness, once rebuilt they work fine.

Just put a set of rebuilt Multitec's in mine, had BoschIII's and I always ran rich, my car like yours calls for 22lb and Bosch are 24.

I read that the ethanol slowly eats away at the Multec coil wire insulation which contributed to the injector failure.

You could send your stock injectors to Jon Banner and have them rebuilt. This way you won't need a new tune. Jon will give you a 3 year warranty.

I did a few mods so I thought 24s would be best. Also, I prefer to buy new injectors instead of rebuilt. I Had a very bad experience with rebuilt injectors.

Yes, no tune required.

Not all 22lb. injectors will work because some are rated at a different fuel pressure. Jon Banner modified the 22lb. Bosch III fuel injectors to fit and flow the correct amount of fuel with the stock fuel pressure of your year C4.

That's why those who buy injectors from other vendors have to get a tune because the injectors are flowing rich or lean.

There is not a 22lb Bosch III, Jon modifies the 24lb, it works for some people and not for others.

And 16.1 to 16.7 is good, then the Bosch III's were all bad out of the box, every one of mine was 15.5 - 15.9 and worked.

If your car is stock, get Multitec's, they are the oem injector.

As it does to every other injector made at the time, when rebuilt they work flawlessly. Go on the LS1LT1.com and ask, that is where I found out about the ones I bought.

Sometimes all you need it a can of fuel injector cleaner. Try that first.

Plenty of things to look at first:

Basic tune up (air & fuel filter, plugs) was last done when?

Might just be an issue with the "9th" (cold start injector) and/or circuit issues/sensor.

Check the fuel pressure on the injector rail to make sure your pressure is correct and holding once the engine is turned off.

If you still feel you want to throw parts at it and decide you need injectors there is a ton of injector vendors out there so shop around.

I think that is when all the problems started.I used some Seafoam injector cleaner and stirred up a whole bunch of dirt and it is sitting on the injector screens.

You are going to buy new injectors, instead of cleaning them?
Run a tank full of Chevron or get some injector cleaner.

I thought about taking them out and cleaning the screens and/or rebuilding them but the cost isn't that much different than replacing them.
