gear help

i have an auto 90 i believe its the 2:59 gear but how would i tell for sure????

and if it is where would a good place to be to buy the thick 3:75 and is there any write ups on how its done???

1. check RPO codes GM1=2.59 and you will know because they make the car feel boring.
2.you can find gears just Google 3.75 thick gears
3.I recommend you have them installed by a pro.

dang looks like a few specialty tools are needed

how much does a shop usually charge to do a gear swap?

Around 1000 bucks around here in NJ,parts included.Richmond gear makes a nice set

Getting mine done in a shop that does nothing but diffs for 800.00 inclusive. This includes a complete rebuild with Timkin bearings and Dana Spicer Gears.
