TPI Runner fitment?
Are they interchangeable for all l98 tpi's?
I have a chance to purchase a set of polished runners and need to know if they will fit my 85 l98 tpi manifold.
Thanks,
JC
85 - 88 runner sets are exactly the same and are interchangable between these years but they are different when you compare them to the 89-91 runner sets. The difference is the early ones have an extra tube (smaller)/opening for the cold start on the "driver's side" and the later ones (89-91)do not have the opening / tube provision.
The bolt patterns are identical for all TPI runner sets....so they will all bolt up to a degree.
Below is a pic of an aftermarket SLP runner set (for an 89-91)without the CSI tube for the driver's side.... the tube for the driver's side (runner on the left in the picture) has been blocked off by the manufacturer. The hole in the other runner (passenger side is there for the EGR.
I ask this because I got a pair for free (both have tubes and a bevel to match plenum near the throttle body). They are dinged up and plan on siemessing them just for fun.
I have a 90 with what appears to be the earlier setup on the car(tubes on both sides). I know this is not factory stock because I do not have a cold start injector, looks like some one had to replace them because they damaged them.
Any help will be very helpful.
