Is RTV silicone gasket maker ( Black) ok to be used on the threads of head bolts?

Thank you.

Yes.
My favorite sealant is Permatex Liquid teflon.
Some like to use Permatex #2 non hardening sealant.

I would get the correct thing that is supposed to seal threads instead of RTV.

Default No!

I wouldn't. You need thread sealent not gasket RTV. I haven't read anywhere they say to use RTV. Just my 2 cents.

Ive been using black RTV on threads since it was invented. On a lot of small blocks. No problems.

Yeah, but RTV is supposed to be an adhesive and gasket maker, not seal threads. So, why not spend the $5 for the correct sealant? Especially head bolts, who would want to have to tear it apart again because the RTV failed to seal head bolts?

My opinion is "NO". It wasn't designed for that purpose. I'm a Permatex #2 guy.
