I've pulled the engine together with the tranny and I plan to put it back
in the same, but the engine wasn't complete when I pulled it.
So my question is:
Is it possible tu put the engine back in with long tube headres allready
installed or should I put headers later?
I know for a fact that my 95 LT1 will go in with EM LT headers attached... I don't know whether it will fit with headers and tranny attached and I don't know a darn thing about an L98

Another option might be to install just one header. That would give at bit more side-to-side leeway while dropping it in.
How about installing the headers finger tight then seeing if it'll fit. If it does, mount it and tighten the header bolts. If not, pull it up and take the headers off.

I have done it every way imaginable, but once the engine is in, then I put the headers on, because my hooker headers interfere with the motor mount bolt access
Also, it gives me a chance to look around for wiring clearance issues etc.
Probably depends if your are installing the engine solo or with a helper. I tried installing the engine with headers by myself and it was too difficult.
