I bought a scanner and I was disappointed. There's free software available if you have a laptop. All you need is the ALDL cable that connects the diagnostic port to a USB interface. I got mine on the internet for about $60. This way you can log data rather than just a snapsot. You can see your short term and long term fuel trims at the various RPMs and air flow.
a '94 is OB I; don't cheap out; get a scanner that reads OB I and OB II which started in '96
I don't recall anyone making a scanning program that does both, even TTS. There are probably some handheld scanners that will do this but for the money the laptop scanners are the only way to go in my opinion. BTW AKM sells a Y cable that will plug into 93 or prior and 94 and later - even though 94/95 are OBD I they still use the OBDII connection, 16 pin I think.
