Default No more check engine light

Ya well kinda I got the car from the old ownner after 7 years of sitting outside in a dirt lot.

It's a 1986 Coupe it had peeling old red paint now it mostly primmer I be painting in the next couple weeks red again.

Flushed the fuel system new battery, new starter new altanator, new Radiator fans and relay engine temp sensor, Flushed the coolent.

No more engine check light BUT after the car comes up to operating temps It runs kinda ruff and seems to chug not crisp and clean running like when first after cold start.

What should I be looking for now.

I still need to get the dash rebuilt I dont know if this will cause the computer to not let the car run right or not.

After I get these bugs worked out next is the brakes, Interior, tires more money It should be worth it when all done with it.

Next year with any luck it be new motor and trans time.

Check fuel injectors. They will work fine in open loop, then when the car warms up and goes into closed loop they misfire in the delivery of fuel. This will not set a code. My 89 did this when my injectors were dying.

If I buy new injectors should I get OEM type replacments or should I up grade and if so to what this is a CA car.

Get a fuel pressure gauge see what your readings are, also ohm test the injectors hot and cold needs to be 16 ohms. Did you replace fuel filter? a car sitting that long should have the system gone through. If buying injectors get with Jon at FIC he is vender on here and has great parts and service and prices on Bosch lll’s. Look at the sticky top of tech section.
