Default Possible Bose Speaker Amp relay problem?

I have a 89 corvette. Last winter I took out the whole dash area to work on the HVAC system. When I put the car back together I found out the Bose speakers were not working. I bought a new speaker amp relay from Corvette Central. When I received it, there was a lot of what looked like dried grease covering the electrical connectors. I installed the relay and the speakers started to work. Then this spring when I would dive the car, the radio would work but when I would turn the engine off and then the radio, the speakers would still make a humming sound. Then when the door would be opened, the security light on the teltale info center would flash and the speakers would make a clicking sound the same time the light would flash. When the ignition was put in the off position, the speakers would not make any more sounds. Any ideas or suggestions?

I eventually put the old speaker amp relay back into the car and it is working fine now. When the battery went dead one day and when I charged the battery and hooked it up and started to hear a crackling sound from behind the I/P I decided to try the old relay and it worked again. Was it the cold environment that caused it to not work. Also I have an alternative method of replacing this relay instead of taking out the DIC and working in that tight space.
