hey guys I just installed my 4+3 back in the car and it seemed to go in ok but now the clutch wont disengage. How are you supposed to install a manual transmission?

the clutch disc isn't fragile, but it can be bent by 'hanging' the trans in the disc, esp before the trans is fully inserted into the bellhsg...to prevent that, i use two 4'' long 1/2-13 bolts with the heads cut off as guide pin/supports to start install and when the trans is ~ one inch from seating in the bell, have a helper depress the clutch pedal...cut slots in the decapitated guide bolts for ez removal after two of the real trans bolts are installed in the other two holes (i got fancy and ground the guide pin ends for a small box end wrench, 7/16'' IIRC, but i AM ****)
I've read that and definitely plan on doing that when I pull the tranny out... again
its just weird, when I put the tranny in I rested the input on the bellhousing not the clutch disc then I lifted it and shoved it in, rotated a bit and when the tranny was half an inch from the bell I installed the bolts...
I tried starting the engine and it stopped almost instantly, then when I tried to depress the clutch pedal again it got stuck halfway down, if I released the clutch pedal all the way up and waited a second it will go to the floor again...
I lifted it and shoved it in, rotated a bit and when the tranny was half an inch from the bell I installed the bolts...
hard to do that without putting bad moves on the clutch disc...when the trans was a half inch from home the trans input shaft was tryin to find an opening in the pilot bearing (my helper depressing the clutch pedal allows the clutch disc to float, not fight), look at the pilot bearing for hurts.
clutch pedal hangin up at part way is scary, check the throw out bearing and trans input 'collar' for dings/errors.
never 'draw' the trans in with the bolts, if it won't seat in the bellhsg with gentle push, somethin's gettin killed.
I'm going to risk the pilot bearing, I'm pretty sure it was okay, I really don't have energy to lift that tranny up again so I'm going to use 2 long bolts, hold the tranny up with a jack and push it off the bell housing and get the throwout bearing aligned.
What happened was the TO bearing fell out causing issues, I got it out and plan on installing a new pilot bearing and TO bearing just to be safe.
unfortunately the clutch fork did get jammed in one of the PP fingers and bent it slightly. Is this okay to bend back(it'd be done at a tranny shop :P lol)?
