I have a 1990 vette with the selectable ride control..i dont think it has ever worked since i have owned the car. I didn't want to spend a grand on shocks all around, was wondering if i can put in just regular shocks if anyone has done this? any recommendations are appreciated!
You can install non adjustable shocks if you want. You will need to remove the actuators on top of the FX3 shocks and zip tie them to something out of the way. You will need to unplug the control box so your dash light doesn't stay lit.
Go with regular bilsiens. I put monroes one 1000 miles ago and they are getting soft.
Two sets of Monroes leaked, for me. Eventually got a refund.
On my Z-51 '84, I like the Corvette Challenge specification Bilstein revalve job the factory did for me. I have a pair of barely used Bilsteins, ready to leave the building.
I put KYBs in place of some gassed out Monroes and the handling is an order of magnitude better. Very inexpensive compared to the Koni's and others. Think I paid less than $40 each for all four.
